‘Cabs4Jabs’ scheme.
Vokes, Windmill and Rainham taxis have teamed up with The Rotary Club of Medway to offer free transport to and from Medway vaccine centres for elderly and vulnerable people living in Medway.Rotarians and Cabbies are appealing for donations to enable free transport to be offered to as many people as possible. The Rotary Club has set a target of raising a £8,000 on top of the £4,000 already donated by the cab firm’s bosses. Drivers are contributing too, by significantly reducing their fares. If you’re able, please donate towards the scheme via the www.virginmoneygiving.com/fund/cabs4jabs page where contributions from taxpayers can be enhanced with Gift Aid of 25% being added.Elderly and vulnerable residents without their own means of transport to and from vaccination centres can access the Cabs4Jabs scheme on the Vokes telephone number of 01634 22 22 22 asking to make a booking on the ‘Cabs4Jabs’ scheme. The Vokes cab co-ordinators will then arrange the transport, with cab drivers being reimbursed at a discounted rate from the charity fund.As mentioned above if you, a loved one, or friend is invited to receive a vaccination within the Medway towns and requires help with transport please call us on 01634 22 22 22 and ask to use the Cabs4Jabs scheme.
