Youth group for LGBTQ people aged between 16 and 25 in Medway
About this service
METRO Stand Out is a group for lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, non-binary, queer and questioning young people in Medway. We meet in Rochester every Tuesday from 6-8pm.
It’s a safe space to meet other LGBTQ young people, get support and have fun. We usually have snacks and hang out together. Sometimes we talk about identity, relationships and wellbeing. Every Christmas we have a party with dancing, pizza and cake. We also go to the cinema, Pride in London and UK Black Pride.
COVID-19 UPDATE: This group is now meeting virtually via Rocket.
We look forward to resuming services fully once it is appropriate to do so.
Who can use this service
You need to be aged between 16 and 25 and live in Medway. You also need to identify as LGBTQ or be questioning your sexuality or gender identity. All our youth groups are free and confidential.

Free condoms, testing and sexual health advice and support in Kent and Medway
About this service
Get it is a scheme providing free condoms, testing and sexual health advice and support in Kent and Medway.
Young people can order condoms and at-home testing kits from the Get it website.
We run sexual health events in schools, colleges, universities and local community venues, where we give advice about sexual health and provide on-the-spot tests for chlamydia, gonorrhoea and HIV.
We also deliver workshops for schools, colleges, universities and youth groups about consent, sex and the law, sex and substance misuse, sexting, sexually transmitted infections and contraception.
We work individually with young people in Medway to give in-depth advice across four sessions. Our boys and young men project can provide further mentoring and support.
COVID-19 UPDATE: Currently many physical Get it sites, where you can normally pick up condoms, are likely to be closed, apart from pharmacies. We advise calling the distribution site before you visit, or ordering online. You can call the Get it Team on 020 8305 5007 for help finding a site that is still open.
Our online services continue to run, but deliveries may take a little longer than usual. We can only supply regular condoms and regular lube at this time.
Our training for professionals has been postponed.
Our individual support for young people in Medway has moved to being delivered online and over the telephone.
We look forward to resuming services fully once it is appropriate to do so.
Who can use this service
You need to be aged between 13 and 25 and live in Kent or Medway.
